Thats a very interesting set of things to keep in mind. from personnal experiance i have seen that keep eye contact with them for a short whiles they looking else where and bringig it back to them actually does make them look at you more and listen.
It has to do with flirting. Some women can't wait to announce their feelings and end up coming on too strong with men. It's an art.
